Outdoor environment for active play

Children can explore large outdoor play areas featuring climbing equipment and new astro turf that gives children a safe surface for active play. These spaces give children room to develop strength, balance and self-confidence through movement and outdoor exploration every day.

Engaging indoor learning spaces

Indoors, learning spaces are filled with a variety of resources that educators use to design age-appropriate, play-based experiences. The rooms give children opportunities for hands-on exploration, creativity and quieter moments suited to their age and stage throughout the day.

Long-standing family-oriented team

Buggles Forrestfield takes pride in its long-standing team of family-oriented educators and teachers dedicated to nurturing each child’s development. Familiar faces and consistent relationships give children and families a warm, settled environment every day.

Individual Learning Plans

Individual Learning Plans are developed in partnership with families and used to guide learning around each child’s strengths, interests and goals. Educators draw on these plans to shape experiences that suit each child’s needs and stage of development.

Kindergarten and school readiness program

Our Kindergarten and school readiness program is delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher and prepares children for a smooth transition to school. Children build skills and confidence through play-based learning, routines, friendships and growing independence.

Yoga and music included

Children take part in yoga and music lessons as part of their daily program, included in the daily fee. These experiences give children regular opportunities for movement, rhythm and creative expression throughout the week.

Nutritious meals each day

Our on-site chef prepares fresh meals and snacks each day, with menus planned to suit children’s nutritional needs across the day. Allergies, cultural preferences and individual dietary requirements are all catered for.

“We believe providing children with caring and committed educators, engaging educational programs, and inspiring environments is key to helping them reach their fullest potential.”

I have over 20 years of experience in the Education and Care industry, with roles spanning various areas, including training and teaching Early Childhood Education and Care at TAFE. My favourite part of working at Buggles Forrestfield is building relationships with our families and witnessing the incredible growth and development of the children during their time with us. At Buggles Forrestfield, we believe providing children with caring and committed educators, engaging educational programs, and inspiring environments is key to helping them reach their fullest potential.

Our team at Buggles Forrestfield is dedicated, warm, and genuinely invested in the well-being of our children and families. We take pride in celebrating all cultures within our centre with educators who speak a diverse range of languages, including Burmese, Hindi, Punjabi, and Spanish. Their enthusiasm for meeting the unique needs and interests of each child is something I am immensely proud of.

We look forward to welcoming your family to our Forrestfield early education centre.

Our innovative early learning programs

Sustainability

Children develop respect for the environment through gardening, recycling and nature-based learning. Educators also introduce the interconnected aspects of sustainability, including environmental, social and economic, through concepts like fairness, sharing and community.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

Music and movement

Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood.

STEM

Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

See more I’m only writing this review because it’s in their best interests — otherwise I’d honestly rather keep the best daycare in Forrestfield a secret! We absolutely adore Buggles Forrestfield. We originally booked a trial walkthrough just to get a feel for the centre, and from the moment we visited they stood out from the rest. We enrolled our daughter shortly after, and it has only gotten better since then. Buggles truly feels like one big family. The educators all get along so well, and you can genuinely see how much they love and care for the children. Every child is looked after so thoughtfully — hats on, dressed appropriately, endless cuddles, and our daughter even comes home with the cutest hairstyles (not limited to girls only)! The centre itself is fantastic. The food provided is amazing, the crafts and activities are always so thoughtful, and the app updates are wonderful. I love reading the little stories about what the children have been up to and seeing photos of my daughter happily interacting throughout the day. Most afternoons she doesn’t even want to leave! Every morning we’re greeted warmly, and whenever we have questions about our daughter’s day or development, the feedback is always detailed, caring, and helpful. The team are also so generous with parenting tips and educational advice, which we really appreciate as parents. Jen and Emma, who run the centre, are absolutely fantastic. They respond to emails so kindly and promptly and are always incredibly accommodating. We are so grateful to have found a place where we know our daughter is safe, cared for, and loved just as much as we love her. If I could rate Buggles higher than 5 stars, I absolutely would.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Buggles uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Buggles is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
